All of our instructors have been working in the photographic line of business for many years and are anxious to share their experience with you, the student.

Basic Photography
This is a 4 week class designed to teach you the operation of the
camera only. This is an extremely good class for people looking to
either refresh their skills or for the new camera owner. The class
outline is as follows:
1st & 2nd Night: Camera
Operations
—How to use all functions of camera; shutter speeds, aperture, auto and manual focus, etc.
3rd Night: Field Trip—Journey around the Quincy Center area to use your new knowledge in the field with an instructor by your side.
4th Night: Composition &
Available Light & Amateur Film
s—How to get the right exposure, and compose your picture to turn it into a photograph. Learn about the many different types and formats of film, and what application each serves in best.
Each class will have a 1 hour lecture followed by a 1 hour slide show of the previous class assignment.

Advanced Photography
1st Night: Recap of Camera
Operations
—Including 35mm and medium format with reasons for
larger negatives.
2nd Night: Films—This is a in depth look at films and their properties and uses, both amateur and professional.
3rd Night: Filters—We will explore the correlation of film and filters and how they work together to make award winning photographs.
4th Night: Lenses—This is a physical, hands-on class. Lenses of all brands and makes, from super-wide angle to long telephoto zoom lenses will be available for you to explore along with a 1 hour lecture on details for selecting different lenses for depth and light gathering quality.
5th Night: Low and Available Light—This class introduces high speed film and special developing instructions to capture images in extreme low light situations. Class will breakdown procedures to follow for many different extreme conditions with solutions used by working professionals.
6th Night: Photo Equipment & Accessories—This is an overall look at special equipment that can assist you in the field and what to look for. Items covered are tripods, camera bags, lens attachments, lighting accessories, etc. This class will also prepare you for class 7.
7th Night: Night Photography—This class will take a fieldtrip to a destination to be announced. We will learn the secrets of bulb and timed exposures.
8th Night: Finishing Your Photography—The final night of the advanced photography class will cover what steps should be taken to finish a photograph to prepare it for showing and hanging. Topics covered are mounting, matting, and framing of finished pieces and how to select the color and material of mats and frames to compliment your art work.

Intro to Digital Photography
This course will introduce you to the newest and most high tech tools and techniques of digital photography. You’ll learn its 3 phases:
capturing of imaging using a digital camera or scanning existing photos, manipulation of images using a computer and popular software such as Adobe Photoshop, and output through a digital printer or to a negative or other mediums. Some computer and camera usage experience is
required. 4 Weeks—$155.00
Introduction to Photoshop
Abode Photoshop is the industry favorite among professionals and amateurs for photographic manipulation. This hands-on workshop will teach you how and when to use different file formats, tools, resolutions, layers, masks, effects, and the basics of building a desktop machine for use of Photoshop. Some computer experience is
required. 4 Nights—$325.00
 
Advanced Photoshop
This class will lean towards the artistic possibilities of Photoshop as well as the different techniques
for making finished artistic prints. Of the many topics discussed in class are advanced tools, troubleshooting,
and the use of Photoshop as an artistic medium. Introduction to Photoshop class or equivalent is required.
